“My dream is to show people how I cook”

He answers that question with a clear no. “Everyone makes a restaurant,” she says. Starting over, returning to the everyday life of haute cuisine, which does not suit the creative mind, which overflows with ideas, and its newly conquered freedom. Instead, he’s continuing a concept with which he’s already had some success. “Kitchen Party” is the initially unrevealing keyword.

Guests of the Food Festival Graz were able to see what happens when Eder steals a kitchen experience last week. No refined atmosphere, no rehearsed service choreography, no sitting around waiting for the next course. Instead, Eder attaches great importance to involving his guests in what is happening in the kitchen. Thus the meal flows smoothly into a cooking class, then into an informal meeting. Please fill your own drinks! “My dream is to show people how I cook,” sums up the concept.

And that’s why he discovered television for himself. Filming for the first cross-border show will begin next week. The arc is drawn between the art of acting and culinary delights. It has something to do with the Salzburg Festival, which starts on July 20, reveals Eder without wanting to anticipate too much.

Kitchen parties in a former warehouse

But let’s go back to the new headquarters: it’s the Handelszentrum 16, a former industrial warehouse that is being revitalized by the real estate developer Marco Sillaber. Several businesses have already pitched their tents there, including a shrimp farm. Future collaborations are obvious. A stylish open kitchen from the manufacturer “Hello kitchen” is currently being built in the modernized halls and Eder can’t help but be delighted with it. “It looks like a theater,” he says.

The television shooting begins

So this will be the new location for Tommy Eder’s Kitchen Parties 2.0. Five dates have been set so far, but getting a ticket is not that easy. Why: “There are no tickets.” The evenings are almost fully booked until next spring. Our tip: If you want to secure a remaining place or want to be kept up to date on spontaneous opportunities to experience the top chef, simply write to him personally.

With all the projects and additional activities, even as a cooking coach for Sepp Schwaiger’s Eder Collection hotel group, for example, Eder is never bored without Hangar-7 either. “I could do even more. But I also want to enjoy time with the kids.” Because they are the most important thing.
